The sisters' father drops in for a surprise visit after a twenty year absence. When their house is broken into with the Book of Shadows the target, Prue believes her father is responsible, but it turns out the new neighbors are instead.

When a young man is killed in cold blood and rises as a ghost, he seeks Piper's help to get his body buried properly before his soul is claimed by a Chinese demigod and cast into hell. With Prue's birthday coming up, Phoebe takes a job as a hotel bar psychic to buy Prue a gift and saves a man's life. Prue learns that Andy was once married and she isn't thrilled about it.

A sleep researcher enters the dreams of women with murderous intentions and targets Prue as his next victim. Phoebe and Piper cast a spell to find the love their missing in their lives, but things don't turn out the way they thought.

A wealthy woman plans a wedding for her son, but a demon appears to take the place of the bride. Piper is left to cater the wedding after her former boss left for France and enlists Phoebe's help. Phoebe believes that Piper may be pregnant with Jeremy's child. A priest is murdered before the wedding after trying to kill the demon-bride, and Andy seeks Prue help in identifying a weapon at the crime scene. When the sisters learn the truth about the demon-bride, they decide to help the old bride get her future husband back.

Aviva, a young girl is used by an evil sorceress that wants to steal the sisters' powers. Piper and Phoebe compete for the attention of Leo, their handyman. Andy gets fed up with Prue after she cancels numerous romantic encounters and doesn't offer any explanation why.

Phoebe has a vision that a warlock from the future will kill a young woman and attempts to prevent it. Prue casts a truth spell to find out how Andy would feel if he knew she was a witch but the spell effects Piper and Phoebe also. Piper learns how Leo feels about her and why her boss is over working her.

In the 17th century the sisters' ancestor Melinda Warren, curses a warlock to spend an eternity in a locket after stealing her powers and betraying her love. Three hundred years later Prue accidentally frees the warlock who determined to destroy the sisters and take their powers. The Halliwell's unsure what to do summon Melinda to imprison him again.

Prue is framed by her boss, Rex, for stealing from the auction house and murdering to cover up the theft. When Piper and Phoebe figure out Rex is a warlock, they break Prue out of jail to help defeat him. Their plans are quickly ruined when Rex is there to photograph their crime and to blackmail them into giving up their powers for Prue's freedom. The girls then are faced with the decision of whether to give up their powers or not. The Halliwell's handyman Leo provides a shocker at the end of the episode.

Phoebe's ex-boyfriend comes to town looking to sell an urn he and his friends have stolen. When Prue is asked to sell the urn at the auction house, she discovers the urn is not only stolen but also cursed. Meanwhile Prue has one day to put together a successful auction to prevent the auction house from being closed down by the bank. Piper uses her powers to play matchmaker for clumsy waiter and the woman he wants to marry.

Piper is attacked by a werewolf-like creature called a Wendigo that feeds on human hearts during the full moon and infects Piper. Prue and Phoebe try to hunt down the Wendigo and kill it so the infection doesn't turn their sister into a Wendigo also. After asking Prue for a job at the auction house, Phoebe has a vision after touching a bracelet. Through the vision Phoebe helps to reunite a mother with her daughter that was kidnapped ten years earlier by her father.

Prue and Phoebe become the target of a demon who appears once every 1,300 years on Friday the 13th and feeds on the fears of witches. If the demon can kill thirteen unmarried witches within the day he returns, the demon will be freed from the underworld to terrorize humankind. Piper is reluctant to start a new relationship because of her belief in superstitions. Phoebe has to decide whether she will cover for her new bosses' infidelity or not.

After Max, a young witch, is kidnapped he contacts Prue through the spirit board for help. Phoebe learns that Leo is a white lighter, sort of a guardian angel for witches, and has returned to make sure Max's call for help reached Prue. Phoebe counsels Leo on the best way for him to break up with Piper since White Lighters and witches aren't allow to fall in love with each other.

After a mild earthquake rattles the Halliwell mansion, an evil shadow-like spirit escapes from the basement, and takes over Phoebe. She inturns lures people into the basement, where they too are occupied by the evil - in the form of violent actions.

Prue casts a "multiplicity" spell in order to triple her strength for fighting a deadly warrior. The spell has an unexpected result, however - instead of Prue having three times the strength, there are simply two Prue clones.

The Halliwells encounter a warlock that has been waiting for years to get their powers. The warlock is immune to the powers of the Charmed Ones after making a deal with their mother to spare her life in the past. In order to save themselves, the girls cast a spell which returns them to mid-70s when the deal was made, their grandmother and mother are still alive, Prue and Piper are playful little witches and Phoebe is still unborn and in the womb.

Prue befriends a soon-to-be priest, but discovers that he has a dark past: a history of warlocks runs through his family, and his two older brothers are trying to force him to join them in their tradition of evil. Phoebe tries to help Piper make a love connection.

A demon steals innocent children in order to use their sight to spot forces of good; a reporter sees Prue use her powers. Andy finally finds out the truth about the Halliwells.

Piper worries about leaving Prue and Phoebe alone as she leaves on a business trip to Hawaii. Phoebe, while touring Alcatraz, watches the ghost of killer take possession of a guard's body to escape the island. Once free the ghost targets those that played a part in his conviction to seek revenge. The sisters discover the only way to banish the ghost is for one of them to die and recite a spell while on the astral plane.

The sisters' vacation is cancelled when Leo appears in the Halliwells house the victim of a Dark Lighter's lethal poison tipped-arrow. Leo is seeking the sisters help to protect a girl that is being targeted by the Dark Lighter. To try to save Leo from dying, Piper casts a spell that will switch her powers with his. Unfortunately the spell also causes Prue and Phoebe's powers to swap. Andy quits his job to help protect Prue's secret from being exposed by an Internal Affairs investigation.

As a warlock makes plans for his attempt to kill the Charmed Ones, he receives a visit from Tempus, a demon who will turn back time until the warlock succeeds in killing all the Halliwells. Upon turning back time after the first failed attempt, Tempus informs the warlock only he will remember the previous events. Fortunately for the Halliwells, Phoebe's power enables her to sense the time loop as deja vu. But unfortunately for Andy, she sees his death at the hand of a warlock in a premonition.
